WASHINGTON D.C. – "Obama: THAT ONE!" presented by Lifestyle Communications and sponsored in part by HBO, announced today that internationally acclaimed artist Davood Roostaei will create one-of-a-kind paintings to present to "Obama: THAT ONE!" "CHANGE" Award Honorees on Sunday, January 18 at the Newseum, the world's most interactive, state-of-the-art news museum. Confirmed recipients include Hill Harper, actor, author, activist, and Founder of Manifest Your Destiny Foundation, and Beverly Bond, Founder, Black Girls Rock.
The latest 7' x 12' feet painting of Davood Roostaei entitled "I am Obama" depicts the history of approximately 45 key White and African-American leaders through slavery, the American War of Independence, the Abolitionist Movement, the Civil War, Reconstruction and the Civil Rights struggle to the day President-elect Barack Obama made history. With up to 4 layers of paint "I am Obama" includes images of Dr. Martin Luther King, Rosa Parks, Malcolm X, and Elijah Mohammad, among others.
